Biography: 
Qiuhong Zhao is a professor in the School of Civil Engineering at the Tianjin University, Tianjin, China. She received her BS, BA and MS from Tianjin University. Her PhD was earned from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Zhao’s research interests include seismic resistance of steel structures and composite structures, seismic resistance and construction safety of bridges, and high-performance structures. Dr. Zhao is currently serving as the vice chair of Steel Bridge Committee of Structural Stability Research Council (SSRC) and a member of various technical committees in major professional organizations, which belong to Transportation Research Board (TRB) in the U.S and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Dr. Zhao’s research has been funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Basic Research Program of China, Tianjin Science Commission, Doctoral Foundation of the Ministry of Education of China, and a number of agencies such as United States Department of Transportation, Tennessee Department of Transportation, and American Southeast Transportation Research Center. Dr. Zhao has been elected into the first group of “1000 Youth Talents Plan Project” in Tianjin in 2012, and the “New Century Talent Support Project” by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2013. Dr. Zhao has published 21 SCI-indexed papers and 20 EI-indexed papers. The papers have been non-self-cited for 146 times in Web of Science, in which one single paper has been non-self-cited for 96 times. She has been invited to make the keynote speech in the international conferences including 2nd International Bridge Seismic Workshop (II IBSW) and International Workshop of Performance-Based Seismic Design of Structures - Resilience, Robustness, and plenary lectures in the international conferences including ASCE structures congress, SSRC Annual Stability Conference and TRB Annual meeting.
