Said Khalid Shah received his Master degree in computer science (1999) from Department of Computer Science, University of Peshawar. From 2000 to 2004, he worked as a lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. In 2004, he joined the University of Science and Technology, Bannu, KPK, Pakistan as a lecturer and then has been promoted to assistant professor in 2012.
He received his PhD degree from the University of East Anglia, UK, with a thesis on topic of non-rigid medical image registration in the year 2011. After completing his PhD, he joined the University of Science and Technology, Bannu and where he was responsible for teaching various computer science subjects and as well as supervising academic/industrial research projects in the area of medical image processing and analysis such as segmentation, visualization, and registration.
