Biography: 
He is graduated from İstanbul Halkalı Agriculture High School in 1990. After graduating from Ege University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture in 1994, he completed his master's degree in 2003 and his doctorate in 2010 in crossbreeding breeding and characterization studies in grapes. He received the title of associate professor in November 2020.He has been working in Atatürk Horticultural Central Research Institute, Viticulture Department since 1998. In addition, he has been the head of the same department for about 15 years. Main study subjects; Viticulture, table grape growing, and breeding, disease resistance of table grapes, kiwifruit growing and breeding, feijoa growing, applications of biotechnology in horticultural crops, molecular markers and marker-assisted selection in plant breeding and sustainable agriculture. He has many national/ international projects, scientific articles, and also registered cultivars (grape and kiwifruit) on these subjects.Especially in recent years, project studies have been continuing on the improvement of resistance to fungal diseases in table grapes. He is Convenor of the “X. International Symposium on Kiwifruit (www.kiwifruit2021.org)”. He is also Chair of the Workgroup Kiwifruit Culture and Management under the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS). He is married with two children and speaks English very well.
