Title: Evaluating eco-innovation of OECD countries with ideal point method in data envelopment analysis
Abstract:
Environmental issues along with their negative impact on social welfare and equality and economic growth have increased the curiosity about the need to change the existing paradigms of delivering goods and services. Therefore, countries are spending more and more to develop sustainable production technologies by investing in research and development projects. Eco-innovation, as the highly expected outcome of these projects, has a significant impact on the sustainability of organizations and countries, at a higher level, especially ecological sustainability. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) helps to measure the technical efficiency of organizations in implementing resources. This research evaluates the eco-innovation efficiency of countries of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to reveal that how they are efficient in transforming available resources to eco-innovative outputs. Results show that Switzerland has the highest eco-innovation efficiency.
