Biography:
Dr. Vasily Golubev graduated in 2009 in BSc in Applied Mathematics and Informatics and in 2011 in MSc from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russia. In 2014 he defended his PhD thesis «Numerical Solution of Spatial Dynamic Problems of Mechanics of Heterogeneous Deformable Media». He continued to work in the Laboratory of Applied Numerical Geophysics (MIPT) under the problem of HPC systems and simulation of seismic processes: seismic survey process, seismic resistance estimation, railways defectoscopy. His area of interest is the development of novel mathematical models, numerical methods and applied computer programs. He participated in the development of a new grid-characteristic method on hexahedral and tetrahedral meshes in the research group at MIPT. This method proved its robustness in a wide range of scientific simulations. Currently, we he is concentrated on the extension of the grid-characteristic method for more complicated medium models: acoustic, anisotropic elastic, fluid-saturated porous and non-linear continuum approaches. His works were awarded with the IBM PhD Fellowship Awards, Henry DeWitt Smith Memorial Fellowship, President Scholarship for Talented Young Scientists.
