Abstract: Recent advancements in gene editing and CRISPR technologies have significantly transformed the landscape of molecular biology and biotechnology. CRISPR/Cas systems, notably CRISPR-Cas9, have emerged as potent tools for precise genome editing, offering unparalleled accuracy in manipulating genetic material. These cutting-edge technologies allow scientists to make targeted modifications to the genome, including base editing and prime editing, allowing for precise alterations at the nucleotide level. Furthermore, advancements in delivery systems have streamlined the process of introducing CRISPR components into cells, enhancing their therapeutic potential for addressing genetic disorders and cancers. The development of innovative CRISPR-based strategies, such as CRISPR activation and interference, facilitates precise control over gene expression, thereby paving the way for functional genomics and gene regulation studies. Additionally, ongoing research endeavors continue to expand the CRISPR toolkit, with breakthroughs in areas like CRISPR-based diagnostics and epigenome editing, further broadening the applications of gene editing technologies. In conclusion, the continuous evolution of gene editing and CRISPR technologies holds tremendous promise for tackling fundamental biological inquiries, advancing therapeutic interventions, and fostering innovation across various scientific domains.
Biography: Prof. Dr. A Taha is a Visiting Professor and External Advisor from New Zealand, and a High-end Foreign Expert at WUC Malaysia & CDU China. Research interests include biomedical engineering, genetic polymorphism effective delivery for genes in vitro, gene knock in and genomic screening, and various topics related to biomedical research. the research results have been published in more than 50 papers in international journals and conferences, including various sci/scie/ieee indexing. received various awards such as chosen for who’s who in medicine and Healthcare 2010.
